Bergs and Birds – My Journey to Antarctica – David Clow

David’s most memorable photography trip took place in January 2006. It was a 3 week cruise aboard a converted Russian research ship, the Professor Multinovsky. The 42 passenger vessel circumnavigated 4000 nautical miles around the Scotia Sea.

ABout Our Location

The new photographers GALLERY is located in beautiful Sidney by the Sea within the traditional territory of the WSÁNEĆ People on the southern tip of Vancouver Island. Sidney is less than 15 minutes driving distance from the Victoria International airport, nearby attractions such as the world famous Butchart Gardens, the Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea Aquarium and connecting ferry terminals to the city of Vancouver and ports in Washington State. Victoria, the capital city of British Columbia is situated 20 minutes south of Sidney.

The gallery is situated in the centre of Sidney along the main shopping avenue in proximity to other fine art galleries, restaurants, bookstores and boutiques. Sidney has a population close to 12,000 and is one of the key hubs for artists in the region, having several fine art galleries and hosting the annual Sidney Fine Art Show. It is also a jumping off point to the nearby picturesque Gulf Islands in British Columbia and the nearby San Juan Islands of Washington State, USA.


The gallery is rectangular in shape, approximately 60 feet long by 13.5 feet wide and is divided into three partially separated bays that may be dedicated for exhibiting shows for three individual photographers, each with display space for 20 to 30 large format works.
