Photos in Nature by Nancy

April 30 to May 22, 2021

The gallery is pleased to have Nancy Brown-Schembri back for an exhibit of some of her wildlife images from home and abroad. Nancy has spent most of her life documenting through photography. Her first career was as a journalist and included news and human-interest photography; capturing a story in a photograph.

In Nancy’s words, “after moving to Vancouver Island six years ago, it was only natural to explore with my camera. Discovering the local wildlife Vancouver Island has to offer has developed into a career of showing my photos at local markets and art shows.”

According to Nancy, “Wildlife photography is about making a connection with the subject. Often that means capturing the eyes of the animals or their natural behaviour, and that means spending a lot of time observing, hoping to find that connection.”
